Did you happen to catch THE must see trailer while enjoying your Thanksgiving? It seriously made everyone in the living room stop what they were doing, and focus on the television. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. My absolute favorite Disney movie from my childhood, is reimagined into a live-action film — Disney’s The Lion King!
Now let me bring you back many, many years ago to my childhood. My family went on a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort (shocker, I know). We were there for my National cheerleading competition, which at that time, was held at Disney’s MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios). We performed on the Indiana Jones stage, and it is one of those moments in my life that I will always remember.
During that trip, I purchased a plush Simba animal. Hands down, that was my favorite souvenir from our visit. Simba slept with me every single night, well into my early adult years. In fact, I still have that Simba plush. Each time I see it, it brings a smile to my face, as I remember those happy memories from when I was a child.
So yesterday, when I saw that first glimpse of Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming film…my heart leapt! Deep down, I think this is the movie I’ve been waiting for.
