We’re getting ready for our upcoming land and sea adventure to Disney World and Disney Cruise Line for the 2018 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration! We’ve got our countdown on, and we’re gearing up for a magical vacation!
I consider our family Disney semi-pro’s. We know the ins and outs, the Disney lingo, and always are up to date on the latest Parks and Resorts info.
There is a little something that can help make your trip even MORE magical — if that’s even possible! Do you know the must-have Disney carry on bag essentials? Packing your carry on bag the “Disney way” will turn your first official day at Disney into pure magic!
Disney Carry On Bag Essentials
For starters, you need the right carry-on bag. My favorite brand, American Tourister, is always a great choice. American Tourister recently sent Disney Social Media Mom attendees their new 20″ Spinner in Cobalt Blue…which by the way, is the perfect Disney blue!
Inside our carry-on bag, I make sure to pack everything that will be needed during our flight, and on our first day at Disney. We usually try to have an early morning flight, so we can take full-advantage of our time at the ‘Most Magical Place on Earth.‘
Here are a few must-haves that all travelers should pack in their Disney carry-on bag:
- Boarding passes
- Travel documents (passport, birth certificates, drivers license)
- Magic Bands
- Daily medications
- Snacks

Aside from those necessities, I like to think a bit more out-of-the-box, and pack things we’d need once we arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. Like I said, we like to start the magic right away!!
For starters, always pack your swim suits for your entire family. Even if your room isn’t ready yet, you are welcome to hop in your Walt Disney World Resort pool! The first day is a great day to relax by the pool.
Headed to the Parks? Great! Make sure you have your favorite set of Mickey or Minnie ears ready to go! You’ll also want to make sure you have a change of clothing if you’re traveling during the colder months.

We wear our ears on the plane and in the airports departing and arrival! Can never start the magic to soon. And yes even on adult only trips we do this,lol also watch preloaded Disney movies in flight.
We’re heading to WDW for the first time in December! We’ve done Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Aulani, but WDW seems to be on a whole other level! I’m excited to learn more about Magic Bands!
