Westfarms Mall Ice Palace and Photos with Santa

Since Lincoln was 3 years old, we have visited the Westfarms Mall Ice Palace for photos with Santa. They really put on a beautiful display that the kids really enjoy…and it makes for some wonderful photos. Last year it was a FROZEN theme, and this year it’s Snoopy and the Peanuts characters.
There are several beautiful trees decked out in silver and gold decorations, as well as a domed area where there’s falling fake snow. The “snow” is definitely the kids favorite part. We went on a weekday evening so the kids could really explore the ice palace and dance in the falling snow. I’d imagine it would get incredibly packed on the weekends. We had the whole place practically to ourselves!! It was nice to not have to rush.

And then it’s time to sit with Santa. This is the same Santa from last year, and he is just wonderful with the kids. I really liked that I could pull out last years photo and say, “Look, he looks exactly the same!!” And unfortunately this was necessary because some delightful child decided to tell my sweet Lincoln that people dressed up as Santa in the mall. Yeah. So not happy about that one.

There was no way whatsoever Avery was sitting with Santa. He ran away from him, covering his eyes…so Santa couldn’t see him, of course. That boy certainly has his Momma in him. That was 100% me as a child. He then continued to peek at him from around the corner, all while giving Santa the dirtiest look ever. I was just waiting for him to blurt out, “You sit on a thone of lies!” HA!

Lincoln, however, had a wonderful visit with Santa. He left with a coloring book for himself, and sweetly requested one for his brother.

The photo we got was pretty hysterical. Lincoln looks almost as big as Santa, and they both practically have the same grin!

Overall, we had a wonderful evening out as a family. Making memories each step of the way!

Have you visited Santa yet this season?
