A tragedy to make a miracle.

As you all know, my Dad is temporarily living in Florida awaiting his liver transplant. We got some pretty awesome news the other day, & I figured I’d share it with all of you!

Where he is on the list is dependent upon his MELD score. The MELD score is basically some fancy schmancy little scientific number that determines his place on the transplant list. We got news the other day that based on his score, and his blood type, he’s currently first on the list [for his blood type]! That’s pretty stinkin’ awesome.

We could literally be getting that call any second saying they have a match for my Dad. In all reality…we’re waiting for someone to die. We’re waiting for a tragedy to make a miracle. How messed up does that sound?

Of course I want my Dad to get his transplant, but it’s just so sad that it has to be at the expense of another person. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again. It’s a crazy world we live in.

Lincoln & I are heading to Florida this Thursday, along with my Mom. We’ll be there for 6 days. I cannot wait! I know Lincoln will be so excited to see his Grandpa. He talks to him on the phone everyday ๐Ÿ™‚

Please continue to keep my Dad in your thoughts. Hopefully he’ll finally be done with this nightmare, and on the road to recovery SOON!!!
