We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother’s Day! Early Friday morning Jared and I hit the pool for some therapy while Avery played with his friends in the childcare center. We recently joined a gym for their indoor pool facilities. I had previously been going there for Aquatic Therapy for 1.5 years, however, insurance decided my time was done. How nice of them. We decided it would be best to join a gym for now so I could still continue making progress with my recovery. We try to go when Lincoln’s in school — and Avery gets to socialize with some kids. He loves it!
Afterwards, we went to Starbucks for a Caramel Macchiato. Avery quickly spotted PIRATE Cake Pops! He just HAD to have one!!
It looked almost too good to eat! It took him quite some time for that first bite! Once he started though, he dove right in!
Later on in the day we went outside per Avery’s request for one of his favorites — BUBBLES!!
When Lincoln got home from school, we decided to take advantage of the nice weather (it had been raining ALL week), and go Mini-Golfing!
Lincoln has been a huge fan of mini-golf for awhile now, however, this was just Avery’s second time! He’s getting the hang of it though!!
The super sweet owner of the mini-golf place came out when we were finished and offered to take a family photo for us. This golf course actually had 12 holes that were ADA compliant — very nice!
And for those wondering, this was at the Matterhorn Mini-Golf, located in Canton, Connecticut. It’s a bit pricier than most mini-golf places we’ve been to, but I’d recommend it!
Saturday was another rainy day — Boo! But, we just HAD to get our boys out of the house. We decided on Olive Garden for dinner. I wouldn’t recommend going there the Saturday night before Mother’s Day, LOL. It was crazy busy!
After dinner we did something else I WOULDN’T recommend doing on a Saturday evening — go to the mall. LOL! OMG seriously. What were we thinking?! We walked around for a bit, but it was just too hectic. We hopped inside Build a Bear and let the boys each choose a new friend.
Lincoln chose Sonic and Avery picked Olaf! They stuffed them and chose their special heart. Then they gave them a bath!
They were very happy with their selections. After we checked out, we practically ran as fast as we could out of the mall (and back into the rain). I don’t think you could pay me to go back there again on a Saturday night!
Sunday was Mother’s Day. I got to sleep in — YAY!! I woke up to some adorable cards from my boys, and a very sentimental one from my hubby. Lincoln also had handmade gifts from school — always my favorite! We spent the day together and had a wonderful dinner at home.
I didn’t get to see my Mom on Mother’s Day, but here’s a throwback photo of us on my first birthday!! Aww!!
