Oh summer, how are you already more than half way over?! Lucky for us, we’re in New England and still have a month left of summer vacation…but if you’re in the southern states, back-to-school is right around the corner! This year will be a big change for our entire family. Lincoln is going to Kindergarten! I can hardly believe it.  Not only that, but he will be in full day Kindergarten! Talk about a major lifestyle change!

He’s ready though.  As much as I’d love to keep him home with me forever, my sweet boy is growing up…and I really think he’s going to rock Kindergarten! I mean, check out that adorable cheese face on his last day of preschool…

Of course being the type of person I am, I have already been stocking up on back-to-school supplies for Lincoln. I want him to be fully prepared — and if I’m being honest here, I have always loved back-to-school shopping, so this is pretty exciting for me!

Speaking of me…it’s all too easy to forget about my needs as a busy mom. When you have kids, it seems like you focus so much time and energy on those little ones, that your needs literally go out the window!

As a mother, and a woman, one thing that we never want to sneak up on us unexpectedly is our period. We’ve all been there. Good old Mother Nature decides to show up exactly when you weren’t expecting her.

Because our schedule is so insanely busy…and will only get busier when school comes around, I decided to make myself a little something special for that time of the month — a Cycle Survival Kit!!

A grabbed a cute, yet small enough bag that would be able to be tossed into my diaper bag, and went from there. Here’s what you will find in my cycle survival kit:

— U by Kotex CleanWear® by U // Not only are these period pads packaged in pretty wrapping, they offer a 3D capture core, a one-of-a-kind center that locks away wetness to help stop leaks! Major important!!

— Hand Sanitizer // To keep those germs away!!

— EOS Lip Balm // My favorite lip balm ever!  Sweet Mint is the best.

— Pain Medication // There’s nothing worse than having period cramps. I am always prepared.

— BIC Razors // Right now I’m going to aquatic therapy twice per week. That means I’m in a bathing suit much more often than I’d ever be. Sometimes in the changing room, I notice a patch of hair I missed on my legs! No big deal when you come prepared with BIC razors!

— Chocolates // Because CHOCOLATE!!!

— Mascara // You can almost never find me without wearing mascara. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but it’s my one necessity.

All of these products can be conveniently purchased at Walgreens. Right now when you purchase $15 worth of participating U by Kotex, EOS, and BIC products, you will get 3,000 Balance Reward Points! I love when I get a little something back when I purchase products I already use!!

How are you getting ready for the upcoming school year? Do you have a cycle survival kit?
