You’ll want to check out these Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Best Tips to Maximize Your Time! I’m including all of the must-do attractions for a SPELL-tacular night! Thank you to Walt Disney World Resort for hosting my family. As always, all opinions are my own.

MICKEY’S NOT-SO-SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY BEST TIPS TO MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME #NOTSOSCARY

I was so excited to surprise my family with tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) when we were recently visiting Walt Disney World Resort. This was our second time attending this ticketed event, but we haven’t been in a few years! Because we had previously attended, there were a few tips I learned along the way during our first visit. Things I’d do differently, and things I absolutely did not want to miss! I’m going to break it all down for you in this Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Best Tips to Maximize Your Time Guide.

Arrive Early

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a Special Event. This means that it is NOT included with your regular park admission. Although the festivities don’t begin until 7 PM, attendees can enter Magic Kingdom Park at 4 PM…if you’re  a Disney Vacation Club Member, you can enter at 2 PM! This allows you to truly maximize your time. Upon entering the park, there will be Cast Members directing you to get your party bracelets and trick-or-treat bags. Use this extra time to grab a bite to eat before the party starts, and maybe hit up a few fun rides!

Tips on Trick-or-Treating

So I know a big highlight of the party for the kids is being able to dress up in fun Halloween Costumes and trick-or-treat at Magic Kingdom. And yes, this is absolutely fun! BUT…you could probably spend your entire evening doing this, and there is SO MUCH you would miss! Here’s my advice. Hit up the very first spot when you grab your bag. Cast Members are VERY generous with each candy stop.

Candy locations are easily marked throughout the park, you literally cannot miss them. Sometimes there will be a huge line. DON’T GET IN IT!!! Although the lines do move quickly, I’d still suggest you pass on by.

Want to know a secret? When you get off most rides, you will receive candy! There will be a Cast Member waiting to give you a treat right after your attraction! This is one of the smartest ways for trick-or-treating!

I also wanted to make note that if your family needs allergy-friendly treats, Disney is (of course) on top of it!!

Grab Your FREE Exclusive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card

My boys LOVE playing the interactive game, Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom! Did you know you can get a FREE, EXCLUSIVE card at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?! Well, don’t forget to grab yours! They’re different each year, and make a really fun souvenir…even if you don’t play the game! These cards are considered collectibles and are a HOT commodity, and they’re only available during the party!!

Exclusive Merchandise

Speaking of exclusive items you’re only able to get at MNSSHP, of course there is a TON of merchandise that is only available to purchase during the party. From pins, to spirit jersey’s, there’s such a huge assortment, you’ll definitely want to check out a gift shop (or two!).

Character Meet-and-Greets

There are several fun character meet-and-greets that are exclusive to MNSSHP. BUT, consider this your forewarning…you might be waiting in line for a long time. These are typically characters you wouldn’t meet on an ordinary park day, making wait times longer. One of the most popular to meet are Jack Skellington and Sally, from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”  If you want to snap a photo with them…line up EARLY!!

Special Ride Experiences

There are FOUR not to miss attractions that are actually a bit DIFFERENT than normal park operating hours! You will definitely not want to miss these experiences!

Space Mountain — My oldest son and husband rode this, and my son said it was BETTER than usual! Experience the thrills of Space Mountain, but in complete darkness! Also? There is a villain soundtrack playing throughout the ride!

Mad Tea Party — Take a spin on this classic with fun Halloween music and festive lights!

Pirates of the Caribbean — Join LIVE pirates throughout the queue and the attraction itself! This is sure to enhance your journey in search of treasure!!

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor — This is a continuous walk through experience. However, you can choose to sit in the theater and interact with the silly monsters as they learn about Halloween!

**BONUS ATTRACTION:** Haunted Mansion — While the attraction itself isn’t any different that usual, there are a few special twists around the ride. PLUS? It’s the Haunted Mansion!! Why WOULDN’T you ride it at MNSSHP?!

  • Special photo ops (including some with fun Magic Shots)
  • Madame Carlotta and Madame Rinotta take turns interacting with the crowd.

Entertainment

While there is endless entertainment during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there are THREE not to miss experiences. Here are a few tips to see them all:

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

PLEASE do not miss this show! It’s my absolute FAVORITE, and you’ll love it, too! I recommend you see the first showing. There will be people already lining up for the first parade, so you’ll be able to get a better viewing location in front of the castle. You’ll want to catch the later parade.

Hocus pocus Villain Spelltacular

The show is led by the silly Sanderson Sisters, and is tons of fun. It also features a good majority of your favorite Disney villains! You’ll love the music, the dancing, and the antics of this spellbinding show!

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

This all new fireworks extravaganza hosted by Jack Skellington, is filled with state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, lighting, and fireworks that fill the sky above Magic Kingdom Park. Grab yourself a Dole Whip, and stake out your preferred fireworks viewing location. The show starts at 10:15 PM. I’d recommend getting there at least 30 minutes prior to show start time.

Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade

To finish off your spook-tacular evening, you don’t want to miss the famous Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade! This is my FAVORITE parade of all time! It’s fun and whimsical, and you will be singing the song for days (or weeks!) to come!

**INSIDER TIP** Looking for a perfect viewing spot? Head up the ramp to the Main Street Train Station! This will give you an overhead look above the parade! It offers a great view!!

    Hello!

How far in advance would you suggest someone go to the Main Street Station viewing spot you recommended for the 2nd parade? Thank you!

The fireworks are at 10:15 PM, and the 2nd parade is at 11:15 PM. I would recommend heading there immediately after the fireworks!
