Life Lately...

I feel like the blog has been a bit on the backburner lately. Aside from the awful sickies that seem to have infected our entire household, we’ve just been busy. So very, very busy. Life with a newborn, AND a 4 year old is a lot of work. And to be completely honest with you….

I am loving every second of it.

I was worried about Avery not getting the attention that Lincoln received when he was born. You know, “second child syndrome.”

But you know what? I think he is getting at least just as much attention. I figured it out. Lincoln was our first, and only baby at the time…hence, he got loads of attention. And Avery? Well, he is our last baby, and I just don’t want to miss a single second.

So, yes. I am soaking up each and every baby snuggle. Deeply inhaling his sweet newborn scent on the top of his tiny head. Adoring when he nuzzles against me. They are only small for such a short time.

Don’t think I’m forgetting about big brother, either. Lincoln still loves to cuddle with his Momma, and that is something I’m very thankful for…because really, this kid is a pretty amazing cuddler.

Lincoln is also really into books, lately. One of his favorites are “look and find” books. He will read them until he has all the hidden pictures memorized.

And oh my goodness, what a sweet big brother he is. Just this morning, he called his little brother, “his Avery.” Melted my heart! I love watching the bond grow between these two.

And our Evy girl? Well, she’s taken a liking to Avery, as well. Just naturally gentle and sweet with him. And protective, of course. She has another little boy to watch over.

I hope they’re always this sweet together.

Lincoln has really been into playing games. One of his favorites is Hungry, Hungry Hippo! He seriously kicks my butt every single time! And, I should probably stop saying that expression, because now he’ll say, “MOM! I KICKED YOUR BUTT!!”
