It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! Well, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself a little bit. I mean, Thanksgiving is still a couple of weeks away, and while I’m all for respecting the turkey, I just can’t help but get a little bit giddy for the upcoming Christmas season! Lincoln and Avery will be 7 and 3 this Christmas, and they are both at such fun ages to really enjoy the holiday. While we certainly enjoy all the festivities the holiday season has to offer, one of my favorite holiday traditions is heading out to get the boys a new outfit! The other day we went to one of our favorite stores, OshKosh B’gosh, to check out their kids fashion for the holidays.
I don’t know about you, but when I think of OshKosh, I immediately think of those adorable overalls. While my Lincoln is sadly too big for their overalls, my little Avery can still rock them! I immediately headed straight to the back of the store, where an entire table was filled with darling little overalls. Once I selected the perfect pair and matching shirt, we headed back towards the front of the store to find something coordinating for Lincoln. There were several different selections to choose, from dressy to casual. Being a mom to two active little boys, casual always wins in our house.
We live in New England, so I always have to take our unpredictable weather into consideration when shopping for clothing. While it is usually quite chilly during Christmastime, last year I remember the boys playing outside without jackets on Christmas day — you just never know! We happily headed out with a stuffed bag!
When we came home, I did what every mother likes to do…try on those clothes and have an impromptu photo shoot!
So like I said, I initially started with the overalls for Avery, and then went from there. Speaking of those overalls…originally I was looking for your regular classic denim ones, maybe with some plaid lining to dress them up a bit. Then I spotted these super cute gray dino overalls, and I was immediately sold! I paired it with a white thermal henley.
While I knew overalls were not an option for Lincoln, it was still very easy to find an outfit that coordinated nicely. The gray hooded flannel and black jersey-lined cords were the perfect compliment to Avery’s outfit.
Absolutely picture perfect…
…with an extra dose of silliness, of course!
I love that these outfits are perfect for both holiday and everyday wear. Lincoln already asked me if he could wear his new outfit to school, because “I look good, AND it’s comfy Mom!” I couldn’t argue with that!
