The 4th of July was never a big holiday to me growing up. One of our dogs was deathly afraid of fireworks, so we always stayed in…which I was okay with.
When I got older, I just never did anything “big” to celebrate the day. I worked in Human Resources at Target for 7 years, and we all know that retail stores never close, so a lot of my time was spent there.
When I met Jared, he introduced me to his entire family for the first time at their annual 4th of July party. This is a party thrown by his Dad’s side, and his father is one of nine children….needless to say, this party is HUGE!!! It’s at a house literally in the middle of nowhere, and they even have their own fireworks show at the end of the night. It’s a fun time, and has become a tradition for our family.
Last year Lincoln didn’t do well with the fireworks. He was all excited for about 10 minutes, then he flipped out and we had to leave. I was really hoping this year would be a different experience for him.
And?!?!?!?!
He loved them. He seriously DANCED to the fireworks!! He was so excited. He was dancing like a crazy man, that every so often, he would just fall over. It was hilarious. I was laughing so hard, I was crying!
Here are a few pictures from our day…
It was a great day, indeed. Lincoln had the best time ever, which makes Jared and me both very happy. I love this is a yearly tradition for our family!
I’m linking this post up with Growing Up Geeky for Toddle Along Tuesday!!

I love the dancing! Thanks for linking up at TAT.
