I am always looking for healthy snacks to feed Lincoln…and myself for that matter!  Recently, I discovered a recipe for all natural, homemade banana ice cream, and I was very intrigued.
Last week I made it with my little helper, and we were both very impressed with the results!

This is probably one of the easiest things I have ever made — AND, it’s good for you!

First you grab a few bananas.  For Lincoln and me, I used three.  Next, you thinly slice the bananas.

Once you are finished slicing, you put the pieces into a freezer bag, and pop them into the freezer for about 2 hours — or until they’re frozen.

When you are ready to make your ice cream, you put your banana pieces into a blender and puree.  Do not add anything else.  No ice.  No milk.  Just the banana pieces.

When it looks like a smooth mixture, you are done!  Scoop the ice cream out of the blender and serve!

I sprinkled some chocolate chips on ours, and it was delicious!

It’s now one of Lincoln’s favorite after school snacks.  I normally will slice the bananas while he’s in school, and when he comes home, he puts them in the blender to make the ice cream!

If you try this recipe, let me know how it turns out for you!!

xoxo
