I can hardly believe it’s already almost time for Hocus Pocus 2 to premiere on Disney+ September 30th! I feel like we’ve been looking forward to this for such a long time, and it’s finally here! We’re huge fans of the Sanderson Sisters. The original movie is probably my favorite Halloween movie ever.
Last year something really cool happened in our tiny state of Rhode Island. A majority of Hocus Pocus 2 was actually filmed in RI! I love that this film is really putting our state on the map!
One of the filming locations for Hocus Pocus 2 was in Newport, Rhode Island. One day we decided to pick the kids up from school and head over to the set to check it out!
We weren’t sure how close we’d be able to get or even what we’d see, but it seemed like a great opportunity for all of us to do something new!
Let’s take a look at what we saw on the set of Hocus Pocus 2!!
We visited the set of Hocus Pocus 2 in Newport, Rhode Island!
Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at how much access to the set that was available! The area was marked off with caution tape, however, everyone was welcome to walk around as long as we didn’t go into the restricted area behind the tape.
The size of the set was rather impressive. I think it’s safe to say that a rather large portion of the film was filmed in Newport.
The town was literally transformed into Salem. From road signs, to building names, and even license plates, there was no trace of Newport.
A large portion of the set are the scenes surrounding the Salem Scare Fest, which based on the trailers, plays a significant location in Hocus Pocus 2.
We really had the best time ever. Most of the filming for Hocus Pocus 2 occurred very late at night, so we didn’t see any filming. I was so happy we had the opportunity to share this experience with the kids. It’s definitely one for the memory book!
I’ve been having a blast watching the Hocus Pocus 2 trailers and picking out things we saw in person! Such a surreal experience for us all!
