Today, is my sweet dog Lacey’s 11th birthday. She is half Akita, & half German Shepherd. She is such a great dog, and I adore her to pieces. I got her right when I really started struggling with panic attacks, when I was 19 years old. I was out of work, because of the attacks, and she was home with me while my parents were at work, and my brother at school. We bonded over that time, and have a very strong connection.
When I got married, as much as it killed me, I decided not to take her to live with me in Connecticut. Her “home” was with my parents, brother, and their Golden Retriever, Brady. Her and Brady are inseperable. I figured she’d be happiest, where’s she’s always been.
On my wedding day, you know I snagged the opportunity to get some professional photos of me with my sweet Lacey.
You would NEVER know in these pictures that she wasn’t a fan of the photographer. She dislikes men, with the exception of my Dad and brother. Funny though, she ALWAYS loved Jared. I knew he was a good man 🙂
When I got pregnant with Lincoln, I was so curious as to how she’d be with him. She met him for the first time, when he was one month old. She seriously watched him for me. Wherever Lincoln was in the house, Lacey was right there.
She’s been great with him ever since. Even though she’s older, she has remarkable tolerance. She’s so smart. I think she enjoys having a tv buddy 🙂
So, Happy Birthday, to my beautiful, sweet Lacey girl. Thank you for everything you have brought to my life. I love you SO much!! xoxo
