My Sweet Boy, Lincoln,
Seven years ago at this very moment, 8:43 AM on November 23rd, my life forever changed. You were born and made me a Mommy. I never knew how much love my heart could hold until I met you. You changed me. The love between a mother and her child is something indescribable. You taught me just how powerful that love really is.
These past 7 years have gone by so, so quickly. But I can honestly say, they’ve been the happiest 7 years of my life. From the moment you were born, you were my little sidekick. I love the bond we share, that continues to grow each day.
This year has been a huge year of growth for you. You amaze me with how insightful and wise you are for someone so young. You’ve certainly been through more than you even realize already, but you take it all in stride.
You are now in First Grade, and you love school. Not only do you love school, but your school loves YOU! You are adored by the entire faculty. They tell me what a kind, polite, and respectful boy you are — it makes me so proud! Your favorite subjects are Science and Math. You are crazy good in math for your age. Sometimes I am shocked at what you are able to teach yourself!
You love to play sports. This year you’ve participated in T-Ball, Soccer, Basketball, and you take swimming lessons! You are one busy little boy — but that’s the way you like it!
You also love playing your video games. Your favorites are Skylanders, and Mario games. You also love Pokemon and Minecraft. You tell me all the time that you want your own YouTube channel — maybe someday!
You love Disney World and going on vacation. Any type of amusement or water park makes you happy. You are a world class traveler!
Although there is a 4 year age gap between you and Avery, you are a very patient, sweet, and protective big brother. You tell me all the time you cannot wait until he is just a little bit older so he can play more things you enjoy.
Whenever I get sad about you growing older before my eyes, I think of this quote: “What if I fall? Oh, but my darling what if you fly?” It is beautiful to watch you grow. I love seeing the person you are becoming. Your life has only just began. You are going to do so many wonderful things. Lincoln, I want to watch you fly.
I know I always say it, but you have the kindest heart. You are genuine. You are sincere. You are compassionate. You are my sweet boy, who still loves to cuddle with his mommy. You are so, so loved.
Happy 7th Birthday, my sweet Lincoln. Thank you for making me a Mommy. Thank you for being my son. I love you to infinity and beyond “and never stop.”
Love you forever,
Mommy
