Happy New Year,  everyone! I’ve slacked off a bit this week as far as blogging. We’ve just been so busy with catching up from our Holiday festivities…which I have to blog about. HA! Anyways, we had a great winter break. Lincoln had 11 days off from school which was nice. We were literally go, go, go the entire time — but, we had fun! I wanted to hop on with a quick “Five on Friday” to cap off the week. So with that, here we go!
O N E
So for the past two years I’ve been lucky enough to be invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. However, I have been unable to attend due to my extensive recovery. This years conference has been highly anticipated when it was announced it would on land AND sea. Invitations went out in November. I didn’t receive one. More invites went out a couple of weeks later. Still nothing in my inbox. Honestly, I was pretty bummed. As the weeks passed, I accepted that this would not be my year. In fact, I started to plan a vacation to Disneyland. You can only imagine how surprised I was when I had that pixie-dusted invitation in my email this week! That’s right…we’re going!! I already registered and booked our flights. February cannot get here soon enough! 2017? You’re off to a good start!

 T W O
Santa brought Anki Overdrive for Lincoln this Christmas. It’s so easy to play that even Avery can play along with his big brother. Even our cat, Oliver is a fan ๐Ÿ˜‰

 T H R E E
Jared took Lincoln to another hockey game on New Year’s Eve. Lincoln’s already asking when they can go again!

F O U R
Oh my sweet little Avery Bug. How I adore his cuddles. I’m keeping him as much of a baby for as long as I can get away with it.

FIVE
With the exception of potty training. I’m totally ready to be a diaper free household. Avery has shown us that potty training will be on his terms…just like everything else.

So that’s all I’ve got for this week! We still haven’t told the kids we’re going to Disney in one month. Once Lincoln finds out we’re going on a cruise he’s going to lose his mind!! I’m still trying to figure out the perfect way to surprise them. On the way to the airport? Can I wait that long?! HA!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Five on Friday

Well, hello there! It’s been forever since I’ve done one of these posts, so I was way overdue! Life is crazy as usual. Aside from everything else going on in our lives, November and December are generally busy months for bloggers. That’s a good thing though! I love what I do. This past week we were able to make a pretty hefty toy donation, all because of my blog. Being able to give back by simply doing what I love is truly amazing.
Okay. Let’s go!
( o n e ) .
Last weekend Jared surprised Lincoln with a special night out…just the two of them. He took him to a hockey game. I think Jared has been waiting for that day since he found out we were having a little boy. They had SO much fun! I’m not sure who had the most fun, but they both had the biggest smiles on their faces when they came home — and Lincoln won’t stop asking when they can go to their next game.
( t w o ).
With Jared and Lincoln out for the night, that meant I got some special one-on-one time with my Avery bug! He is at such a fun age. THREE! HA!  He’s the sweetest, happiest boy one minute, and watch out the next! We had a fun night. We spent lots of time playing Paw Patrol. Then he actually wanted to cuddle in bed and watch some Mickey Mouse. Perfect night to me!

 ( t h r e e ).
Right now we are all about Christmas!! Over the weekend we finished our decorating, and the boys decorated a Gingerbread House. Now I need to tackle wrapping all those presents. Yikes! I wish Santa would loan me one of his elves!!

Avery’s smile gets all the heart eyes!!!
Being a mom to these boys is seriously the best thing ever!

( f o u r ).
Remember those YouTube videos that Avery loves so much? Well, I happened to stumble upon these finger puppets at Target the other day and couldn’t pass them up! I was going to hold them for a stocking stuffer, but I just couldn’t wait to give them to him. Now he has props when he sings his “finger family” song.
the song still creeps me out, but at least these are cute
( f i v e ).
Sometimes at the end of the day, you just need to relax. Kids these days!

Annnd that’s all I’ve got! Busy weekend ahead. Probably just staying in, tackling our wrapping, and Lincoln has basketball practice. Happy weekend!!

What a week! This week has been even crazier than normal, which is ridiculous in itself. We’ve had an appointment every single day this week — sometimes 2 (or even 3!) in one day! So yes. I am glad it’s Friday…although today happens to be the day I have those 3 appointments in one day. Ugh.
To top it off, I woke up on Sunday not feeling so well. I’m talking headache, sore throat, and body aches. Pretty fun, right?!
Monday was my birthday. The big 3-5! I’m actually okay with birthdays now, and getting older. It just means I’m alive!
Anyways, I was still feeling pretty sick, so I spent most of the day in bed. Thank goodness for my Dad being here to help out with the boys!
I’m finally feeling better, thank goodness! And so far (crossing all crossables), the boys have miraculously avoided getting sick.
Annnnnd here we are — Friday again! Let’s do this!!
( o n e ).  There is truly nothing like the unconditional love of a dog. My best girl, Belle knew I was feeling under the weather. She wouldn’t leave my side.
( t w o ). Happy 35th to me!! Birthdays are so much more special when you’re a Mommy.

( t h r e e ). So, I’m slightly embarrassed, but I’ve NEVER read Harry Potter. I’ve only seen the first movie. I have my BA in English, people!! What is wrong with me?! Well..I somehow scored a STEAL on the new illustrated version on Amazon for $9 — I KNOW! Obviously I couldn’t pass it up. I’m really looking forward to reading them with Lincoln, and experiencing the magic for the first time TOGETHER!!

( f o u r ). Lincoln had his annual eye exam this week. Just a slight change to his prescription, but the doctor was pleased!!
He also got to choose new glasses! He was very excited!! He narrowed it down to these two, but ultimately chose the pair on the right. I think he made a good choice — and how adorable is his little face?!
( f i v e ). Happy Birthday to me!! I went on a little shopping spree at Sephora. I figured, I’m 35 now — time to invest in some eye cream!!

Happy weekend, friends!! Enjoy it!!

I cannot believe how quickly this summer is flying on by! It’s the END of July already!! That is just CRAZY!! I’m trying my best to give the boys a fun summer while I’m still recovering and going to therapy. So needless to say, I’m pretty much exhausted and ready for bed by 8 PM.
BUT, with all of that, it’s Friday — so, let’s do this!
( o n e ). We took the kids to the zoo at the beginning of the week on probably the hottest day ever. Of course Lincoln and his cousins wanted to have a camel ride!!
( t w o ). My boys couldn’t be more opposite. Here we have Lincoln doing some of his summer homework. And here’s Avery…in the middle of the table. He is a full-fledged 2 1/2 year old!!
( t h r e e ). But then there’s moments like this, and it makes me forget those trying times.
( f o u r ). Lincoln is the pickiest eater on the planet! I was so proud of him at lunch the other day when he tried spinach & artichoke dip — and he LOVED it!!
( f i v e ). Keep our sweet pup Belle in your thoughts today. She’s being spayed and micro-chipped.
And that’s all I’ve got! Who has big plans this weekend?! We have a birthday party, but other than that I think that’s all! I’m hoping to get some blog work done and of course spend time with my boys.
Happy weekend!!

Happy Happy Summer!! Lincoln’s officially been out of school for one week already (don’t worry, there will be a last day of Kindergarten post coming). Anyways, we’re super excited to kick off summer! We’re hoping to do a few fun things with the kids. Today I’m going to run-through a quick edition of “Five on Friday.” Let’s go!!
(one). A few days before Lincoln’s last day of school, we were invited to visit for their art show. Let me tell you how impressed I was…the art completed by Kindergartners this year was incredible!!
Of course I had to snap this photo of Lincoln giving his little brother a tour around his school ๐Ÿ™‚
(two). Last weekend we had a family wedding to attend. It was nice to get dressed up and go out with my husband to some place other than a doctors appointment or physical therapy. We had a wonderful time.
(three). While we were at the wedding, the boys were having a blast with their cousins in Rhode Island! They even visited the zoo!! Lincoln said his favorite were the wolves, while I was told Avery was fascinated by the elephants.
(four). I snapped two sleeping photos of my boys this week. Although Lincoln is 6 1/2 now, I can still see a glimpse of that baby he once was.
Oh and my sweet baby Avery. He still has that baby face. He is so snuggly!
(five). This photo of our sweet Evy pup popped up in my Timehop today. Still can’t believe she’s gone. What a beautiful dog. Miss you, sweet girl.
Well, that’s it for today!! Who’s seeing Finding Dory this weekend?! You guys, I AM SO EXCITED!!! Happy weekend!!

Five on Friday

Oh hey! Remember me?! I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Last Thursday I ended up having surgery. Again. That seems to be a trend for me lately, so this is me…waving my white flag! Enough!!

I earned myself another two night hospital stay. I’m home now, thankfully. Hopefully on the road to recovery for good.
Anyways. I figured a “Five on Friday” post would be fun. So with that, let’s go!!

(one). Baseball season is here! Well, t-ball season for Lincoln. I’m hoping to be able to get to the field in a couple of weeks to see one of his games.

(two). Mother’s Day was this past weekend. I was only 3 days post surgery, so I was a bit exhausted. Clearly. I did manage to sneak in a two hour nap with my Avery bug.

Also, my boys spoiled me with this beautiful bracelet. Lincoln also gave me some handmade gifts from school…which are always my favorite.

(three). Ohhh, Belle. Here is our sweet puppy. You know, just hanging out on top of the patio table…

(four). I cannot begin to tell you how much Avery LOVES Lincoln. In fact, he doesn’t even call him Lincoln. He calls him “Big Bro,” and it’s pretty much the cutest thing EVER!! Whatever Lincoln does is obviously awesome, and Avery wants to do exactly the same thing.

(five). My parents surprised the boys with a sandbox. They love it…as does Belle…which means when it’s not in use, it has a table on top of its cover, otherwise she throws a very sandy party.

Annnnd that’s all I’ve got. Hope you all have a fun-filled weekend!!

Five on Friday

Another week, another Friday. The time just never seems to slow down. Another busy week, getting ready for our Disney vacation next week. We’re just a wee bit excited. We’re staying at Bay Lake Towers, and I think Lincoln is the most excited of all to just be able to hop on a monorail and go.
So with that, I bring to you another “Five on Friday.” Here we go!
(one). Avery had his first play-doh experience the other day. He wasn’t too sure about the stickiness of it at first, but he eventually had quite the blast. Of course Lincoln is a play-doh pro, so he showed his baby bro how it’s done.

(two). An unseasonably warm winter makes for fun playground visits while big brother has basketball practice.

(three). An impromptu visit to the Disney Store to pick up some fun tee-shirts for the boys, and get even more excited for our big trip!

(four). My new planner arrived this week!!! It’s a Plum Paper Planner, and isn’t it just gorgeous?! I’m ready to PLAN ALL THE THINGS!!! Except now I’m a bit overwhelmed with fun stickers, washi tape, and pens — OH MY!!

(five). I just can’t with this little ol’ belly!! Avery says, “Blast off!!!“

Hope you all have a fantastically fun weekend!!

Five on Friday

Written by Kami Leave a Comment

I decided to participate in a good old “Five on Friday” post today. I haven’t done one in awhile, and I do enjoy them so much. Lots of little random moments from our week! Anyways, this week the star of my post is my little Avery. Lots of time spent with him while Lincoln is in school all day long. I definitely love the four year age difference between the two. It gives me lots of one-on-one time with each of them.
Okay. Five on Friday, Let’s go!
(one). Avery LOVES his blankie. It’s one of those Aden & Anais Issie security blankets, and luckily we have four. He calls it his “B.” He will sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, and if he can’t find it, he’ll yell, “B, where are you?!” Hysterical. The only thing that’s difficult, is when we go out we have to make sure we have at least one of his blankies. You never know when he’ll be looking for it!

(two). And speaking of my dear sweet, sweet Avery. Have I ever mentioned what a little trouble butt he is? You really cannot get mad at him, because he’s so darn cute…and that precious baby face he has with those big blue eyes. I think he knows exactly what he’s doing. The other night he was happily playing in the middle of our kitchen table with no pants on. When he saw me, he sweetly said, “Hi mom!” and then continued playing.

(three). I was at Kohls the other day trying to burn some gift cards from Christmas when I spotted this beautiful wall art. I snatched it up for next year…although Lincoln didn’t understand why we couldn’t display it now. My sweet boy loves Christmas!

(four). Our little Lady Belle is growing like a weed. Seriously, she practically looks like a full-grown German Shepherd here! Such a big difference from a few weeks ago!!

(five). We go to Disney in just about two weeks. The other night I had to make my famous Mickey pancakes for the boys!! Avery was pretty amazed…and then he promptly bit Mickey’s ear off. And yes, we had breakfast for dinner. I like to do that at least once per week. I had to get my husband on that train, because he first thought I was nuts. Breakfast anytime is the right time!!

And here’s a little extra for you…we had to go get Belle a new collar the other day, because of that growing too fast problem, and I spotted Pound Puppy DOG toys!! So so adorable!! I would have scooped one up for her, but she would have happily tore it to shreds within a matter of seconds.

Cute, right?! Well, that’s all I’ve got! Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Well hello there! Just popping in for a quick “five on Friday” update! Life has been crazy lately, as per usual. Between therapy three times per week, doctors appointments, and Lincoln in school, soccer, and swimming lessons….it’s a bit insane!!

Anyways, here we go…

(one). First and foremost, do you like the new blog design?! I wanted a bit of an update, and a cleaner look. I’m so, so happy with how it turned out!!! Shout out to Becca at Jumping Jax Designs!

(two). My sweet Lincoln got glasses!! Doesn’t he look so handsome?! OH, AND he has a loose tooth!!! This kid is getting way too big for me!

(three). The other night both boys ended up in bed with me. I didn’t get much sleep, but moments like this seem to make it all worth it.

(four). I swear this baby gets cuter each day. I mean…

(five). Story time is my favorite time ๐Ÿ™‚
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Five on Friday

Written by Kami Leave a Comment

Well, it’s Friday again! Summer is in full swing, and although I’m still not really able to get out and do much, time is still flying! — which I suppose is a good thing!! Lincoln finished up t-ball a couple of weeks ago, and he’s going to start swim lessons next week. Busy busy!! I also wrote part two of the accident earlier this week, in case you missed it. There will be a part three (hopefully) soon.
So with all of that, here are five random things for you today…

(one). I started aquatic therapy and it’s AMAZING!!! I seriously could live in the water. I haven’t put any weight on my legs since January, however, I am allowed to bear weight in the pool. My entire body feels incredible after my sessions.

(two). My niece and nephew from Tennessee spent the last month at my in-laws house. They live right next to us, so Lincoln and Avery were able to enjoy lots of time with their big cousins.

(three). Elf jammies in the summer because, why the heck not?!

(four). Lincoln went to visit his great grandfather the other day and made him a card. He drew an eagle on the front. I was really impressed…I don’t think I could draw an eagle that well!!

(five). Lincoln makes this face and seriously looks just like his daddy. Which of course once I told him that, he makes the face all the time! It’s pretty amazing seeing yourself in your kids.

Well, that’s all I’ve got! We have some plans for the Fourth. We always go to this huge family cookout — complete with fireworks!  This year I will probably only be able to stay for a couple of hours, but it will be nice to see everyone.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!!
xoxo

Written by Kami Leave a Comment

I’m *trying* to get in some sort of blogging routine again.  It’s super frustrating though, since typing with my left hand is just about impossible. I lost a lot of strength in my left hand in the accident, and still have some numbness. I should regain everything back, however, it could take up to two years. And speaking of the accident, I promise to write part two soon.
Today I’m participating in one of my favorite link-ups — Five on Friday!! So with that, let’s go!!

(one).  Every time Lincoln sees a dandelion, he picks it for me.  I adore his sweet little heart. This is something that will never get old.

(two).  Brothers eating waffles together in morning. All cuddled up, and watching some Mickey Mouse.

(three). I know Mother’s Day was a month ago, but I need to share how adorable and hilarious this is. And I swear, we do not play the wii 24/7…despite that’s what it sounds like!

(four). Summer is finally in full swing! Last year we fenced in our backyard, and made a patio area. The boys have definitely been getting lots of use of their new yard. I love when the two of them cruise around in this little car ๐Ÿ™‚

(five). Although I’m not really able to get out much yet, thankfully my parents decided to treat Lincoln and Avery with a fun zoo trip! They went along with my brother, his girlfriend, and her two kids. They all had a blast!

Well, that’s all I have. Did you start watching the third season of Orange is the New Black?! Jared and I watched two episodes last night — I bet we’ll finish the series in a week!

Happy weekend, friends!!

Five on Friday

Written by Kami Leave a Comment

I’ve noticed a few of my favorite bloggers participating in a link up called “5 on Friday.” It’s basically just 5 random things and you write about them.  It can be anything really.  A bunch of randomness, if you will.  Sounds fun to me, so let’s do this!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

[one]. Today is Valentine’s Day.  Poor Lincoln has yet another snow day from school, so his party will be rescheduled ๐Ÿ™ He’s been looking forward to this ALL week, and worked so hard on his Batman Valentine’s.  At least we have Grammy and Grandpa spending the weekend with us…that will cheer him up!

[two].  Also?  It’s Valentine’s Day, and boy have things changed!  Today we’re going to leave the boys for a bit with my parents, and head over to Babies R Us to trade in an old baby item, and get 25% off a convertible car seat for Avery.  Weird thing is, we’re actually excited about it!  We *might* grab a quick lunch at Olive Garden…but that’s not even a definite thing.  Crazy how things change when you have kids!

[three].  I keep telling myself I need to work out…but I’M NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!! And that makes me mad, at myself.  Ugh.  I know, rather than complaining about it here, I should just do it already.  Right before I got pregnant with Avery, I bought some kettlebells.  I think it’s time to break those out and get to work. Those, along with some old exercises from my cheerleading days should whip me back into shape!

[four].  Lately, I’ve been looking at Lincoln and really noticing some changes.  I can literally see him losing his baby face and becoming a little boy.  It may make me a little sad.  It’s amazing watching your child grow up and discover new things…but my goodness he’s my baby!!!

[five].  I admit it.  The Bachelor is my guilty pleasure.  Something about the train wreck that it is, I seriously cannot turn away!  This season I’m not really feeling Juan Pablo.  I mean, he’s *okay* to look at, but his personality is kind of the pits.  As for the girls?  I really like Renee.  She seems so down to earth, and she reminds me of Jennifer Anniston!  But I’m thinking she may be too good for him.  Claire?  OMG, NO!  Just no.  Cannot stand her.  But like I said, I’m not really a fan of Juan Pablo, so maybe they’re the perfect match?  Do you watch The Bachelor?  What are your thoughts?  I’d love to hear them!!

Have a great weekend!!!
xoxo
