Season 4 of Bridgerton sweeps audiences back into the glittering ballrooms of the Ton. But this time, it trades scandal sheets for glass slippers. Centered on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), this chapter leans fully into its Cinderella-inspired romance, delivering one of the most emotionally satisfying love stories the series has offered so far.

Bridgerton Season 4 Review

A Cinderella Story with Depth

At its heart, Season 4 is a reimagined fairy tale. Sophie’s journey, from overlooked outsider to the mysterious woman who captures Benedict’s attention at a masquerade ball, mirrors the classic Cinderella framework. But what elevates this retelling is its emotional grounding. Sophie isn’t simply waiting to be chosen; she’s navigating identity, independence, and survival in a society that rarely makes space for women without rank or fortune.

The masquerade sequence is pure Bridgerton magic. Sweeping strings, candlelight, and longing glances that feel almost suspended in time. It’s romantic escapism at its finest, yet layered with enough tension to keep the stakes real.

Benedict & Sophie: Chemistry That Sparks

Luke Thompson’s Benedict finally steps fully into leading-man territory, and he does so with nuance and vulnerability. Benedict has always been the artistic, slightly restless Bridgerton sibling, but here we see him confronted with love that challenges his privilege and expectations.

Yerin Ha’s Sophie is luminous. She balances quiet resilience with emotional fire, and her chemistry with Thompson is undeniable. Their connection builds slowly. In stolen looks, charged conversations, and moments of aching proximity. When they finally collide emotionally, it feels earned.

Simply put: the spark is there. And it burns.

Strong Side Storylines Keep the Season Balanced

While Benedict and Sophie anchor the season, the supporting arcs are equally compelling. The Bridgerton family dynamics remain a highlight, offering warmth and humor to counterbalance the romantic tension. Meanwhile, the ever-watchful eyes of the Ton ensure that secrets never stay buried for long.

Season 4 also smartly invests in its ensemble, allowing secondary characters to evolve rather than simply orbit the main romance. Whether it’s shifting alliances, whispered scandals, or quiet personal reckonings, the side storylines feel purposeful and textured.

A Season That Feels Both Classic and Fresh

If earlier seasons of Bridgerton were about passion and power, Season 4 is about longing and choice. It captures the fairy-tale fantasy audiences love while asking deeper questions about class, identity, and what it truly means to be seen.

With breathtaking costumes, swoon-worthy orchestral covers, and a love story that feels both timeless and modern, Season 4 proves once again why Bridgerton remains one of Netflix’s crown jewels.

And like any great Cinderella story, it leaves you believing in magic…even after midnight.
