The moment I found out I was pregnant with Avery, I knew I wanted to have professional newborn photos taken. With Lincoln, we had pictures done from a studio at Target, and while they came out great, I really wanted to have the experience of a professional newborn photo shoot for our second son.
When I was at BlogHer12, I had the opportunity to meet Kat from Living Like the Kings. I had been a follower of her blog for quite some time, and it was so great to meet the person behind the blog. Kat is just one of those people who you immediately feel at ease, and can talk all day with!
Kat had recently started her own professional photography business, specializing in newborn and lifestyle photography. It was a no brainer that I chose her to capture Avery’s photos.
Kat visited our home when Avery was just 6 days brand new. She spent a few hours with us, and was so incredibly patient and overall just a great person to work with. She was able to get some incredibly amazing shots of our baby boy. Here are a few of my favorites I want to share.
Of course big brother Lincoln had a few photos taken as well. This particular one I find breathtaking. He just looks SO gorgeous!
Jared and I can certainly do one thing right — make cute baby boys!!
For anyone out there about to have a baby, take my advice. Hire a professional photographer. The investment is so incredibly worth it. I am a huge lover of photos, and to me it’s so very important to capture these memories. They are simply irreplaceable.
