Oh hello there, THIRD TRIMESTER! How the heck did you get here already?! Trust me though, I am very excited to be in the home stretch, because this pregnancy is SO hard. I feel like I say that a lot, but honestly, I ‘m just ready to not be in so much pain! Still have 2.5 more months to go though, so I’m hanging in there.
Anyways. I had my 28 week appointment last Friday. Things are going well, relatively speaking. My blood pressure and weight are looking good. Baby is doing great. And, I had my oh so wonderful glucose test. Praying I passed because that was unbelievably awful. I don’t know how anyone takes the 3 hour without passing out! I was light-headed with the one hour!
I however, have Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction [we’re just calling it SPD from here on out]. It basically is pelvic pain. However, it’s pretty extreme. My pelvic bone is separated. You can feel it clicking when walking. Going up stairs is especially painful. Normally it subsides after delivery. My OB told me he could send me to physical therapy, but said it wouldn’t help much. He said they’d align it, however, because pregnancy loosens everything, it would just separate again. He suggested therapy after delivery, if it’s still bothering me.
So what can I do? Hmmm. Not much. I am to avoid stairs at all costs. Which honestly, this isn’t too hard. My house is obviously completely accessible. When I go to my parents house, I just stay on one level. I am also to keep my walking to a minimum. While this would be difficult if not impossible for most people, I do use a wheelchair. Now I’m just using it a lot more than I normally do. I basically am between my wheelchair [when doing things around the house, or out], the couch, and bed. Fun stuff, I tell you! Thankfully Lincoln has been amazing with Mommy needing to take it easy and rest. He’ll bring me toys and books on the couch. And we’re doing lots of snuggling ๐
And now for my 28 week survey:
How far
along? 28 weeks
along? 28 weeks
Weight gain/loss: I gained 4 pounds in a month, which puts me up at 19 pounds gained total. At this point with Lincoln, I was up 24 pounds. I’m hoping this means I won’t end up with polyhydramnios this time around!
Maternity clothes? Oh goodness, yes! I need to go through my maternity clothes bin and break out the bigger size pants!
Stretch marks? None.
Sleep? Some nights are better than others. Most nights I’m up 3 times to pee. Sometimes falling back asleep takes a while.
Best
moment this week? Besides the SPD diagnosis, I did have another great doctors appointment.
Food cravings:
Nothing specifically. Really depends on the day…or should I say moment.
Gender: BABY
BROTHER!!!
Belly button in or
out? Completely flat.
out? Completely flat.
Movement? He seriously does not stop. AND? They freaking HURT!!! Lincoln moved like crazy too, but his movements never actually hurt me. This one is using me as a punching bag!
What I
miss? Not being in pain.
What I’m looking forward to: Ultrasound on Monday.
Milestones: Third trimester, baby!!
And just for fun, here’s my 28 week update with Lincoln.
Eleven more weeks. I can do this!!!
