Another school year is in the books! I cannot believe Lincoln just finished up his last day of First Grade. This year seriously flew by, and he accomplished SO much. It’s quite incredible what kids learn nowadays at such young ages. Lincoln is full-on reading, and rocking it! I couldn’t be more proud!! He is also a wiz in math and science…maybe he’ll be an engineer someday 😉
When Lincoln was in Preschool, I purchased the book, “OH, The Places You’ll Go!“ Each year I ask his teachers to write him a special message inside. This year was extra special, because it was his last year at this school. I wrote a note to his teacher and asked if she could have anyone who would like to sign his book in the school, to please do so!
I was so happy to see the many different teachers he’s had these past two years write him such wonderful messages. Aside from his classroom teacher and speech therapist, his gym, music, and art teacher all signed it, as well as the school principal!
The Principal wrote Lincoln the sweetest message. She’s been a part of his life since he was just 3-years old in Preschool! She’s really watched my boy grow into the incredible kid he is today! We will really miss her, she’s such a fantastic principal. Each morning, she greets each and every one of her students at the door. She makes a huge effort to really participate and be active in their education.
We are so excited for our new adventure next year with moving to Rhode Island. Lincoln’s very excited about going to a new school with his cousin. BUT, he was a little bit sad on that last day of school. Change is hard on anyone, especially a young child. As happy as he is for our new house and moving, I totally expected it.
Right now we’re ready to fully enjoy our summer vacation! I really love having both kids home with me. They’re so much fun!
And check out this comparison photo from his first day of First Grade, and his last day. BIG CHANGES!!
Such a handsome boy!! We’re ready to rock second grade — but first…SUMMER!!!
