The ride would have only taken us about 2 1/2 hours, but we ended up being stuck in traffic for 40 minutes or so. Luckily Lincoln is so awesome in the car, because I think most other toddler would have flipped their shit! He happily looked out the window pointing out all the cars and trucks…yeah buddy, their were a lot of them.
When we checked into our hotel we noticed something a bit….interesting…
Okay, so the room we got had a king size bed, and a jacuzzi bath. What it also included were see through glass doors into the bathroom! It’s a good thing it was just Jared, Lincoln, and myself, because….how weird!!!
We treated ourselves to a nice steak dinner at a nearby steakhouse, stopped at Target for a few small toys for Lincoln, and went back to the hotel for the night. Lincoln had a blast, playing with his new choo choo’s and matchbox cars. However, when it was time to go to bed, he was done. Poor boy kept saying, “I go!!” He wanted to go home, and sounded so sad ๐
He finally settled down and eventually dozed off. The next morning we woke up ready to go cheer on Daddy! This might sound pretty bad on my part, but part of me was actually hoping they lost! If they won, they advanced to the final round of playoffs, which are held in California!
Anyways…we headed to the rink. Lincoln was sporting his super cute shirt I made for him. His shirt was a big hit with the other guys on the team. Lincoln even got to go into the locker room with his Daddy. He thought he was a big shot ๐
While we were at the game, one of my online Mommy friends that I’ve “known” for the past three years, met us there with her two boys! One of her boys is 6 months older than Lincoln, and the other is just a wee sweet babe at two months old. It was SO nice to meet her in person. She was so sweet, and her boys were just adorable!
Lincoln and her older boy totally hit it off. They were constantly on the move! It was hard to get a picture of the two of them…even when we tried to bribe them with popcorn! This is the best shot I got. I know, I know…it’s from the back, but don’t they look like little buddies?! ๐
Oh….and they DID lose! I feel bad. Jared was sorta hoping they didn’t make it to the next round too, so I guess that makes it a little better. AND, he did score one of their only two goals. So, at least he played well!!
Maybe next year Lincoln and I will make a few more road trips with Jared and his team. He’ll be a little older, and maybe actually want to watch Daddy play, rather than go sit on the bleachers with the other team…no, I’m not joking!
Hope you all had a fun-filled weekend!!!
