2012 in Review

As we welcome a new year, I thought it would be fun to recap 2012.  Let’s go back and see what happened with my family in one years time.

January:

I opened up to you about my thyroid cancer, and why I am incredibly thankful.  I also shared where we got Lincoln’s name…and it’s probably not from who you think!

February:

I asked you who Lincoln looks more like, the hubs or me. 

I also told you about what it’s like to be married with children and celebrate Valentine’s Day. I reminded you just how ridiculously huge I was, and shared some baby bump photos. 

March:

Lincoln had his early intervention evaluation, and qualified for the program for his speech delay.   Definitely the biggest event that happened, not only in March, but this year, my Dad received the call for his liver transplant.   It was also around this time that Jared and I started to talk about conceiving baby #2. 

April:

I shared my frustrations with my Dad while he recovered from his liver transplant.  I also recapped our trip to Disney while we were in Florida.

I decided that I wasn’t busy enough [insert extreme sarcasm], and decided to open an etsy shop! 

May: 

I shared my take on a very controversial issue.  Jared and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary.

 
 June: 

I recapped our annual beach vacation. 

I showed you all Lincoln’s amazing dance moves.   Lincoln also visited his first water park, and he loved every second of it. 

July: 

My family lost a beloved pet, and mourned his loss.

I updated you on my dads recovery with his transplant and Lincoln called me “Momma” for the first time.  I also shared what I want to be when I grow up.

August:

After one year, my Dad finally came home from living in Florida to receive his transplant.  I also attended BlogHer12 in NYC, and shared my experience with you. 

We visited Florida again and I told you about the Magic Kingdom.

September:

We visited Story Land in New Hampshire. 

I shared the joys of potty training and my best friend gave birth to her sweet, precious miracle twin boys. 

October:

Lincoln made his first ebay purchase.  He also had his pre-k evaluation.  We visited a local pumpkin patch, and plan on making it a yearly tradition. 

November:

I recapped our wedding week in Florida, and included several photos of the cutest little ring bearer I ever did see. 

I shared a sad story with you all, and asked for your thoughts and prayers.  My sweet Lincoln turned 3 years old, and we celebrated with a Jake & the Neverland Pirates birthday bash!!

December:

I am suddenly the parent of a preschooler. 

 I shared our Christmas traditions and some adorable holiday photos.   

I talked about the details of my recent miscarriage.   We took Lincoln on the Polar Express, and he got to wear the conductors hat! 

We also had a fantastic Christmas, that I still have yet to blog about.  I promise that will be coming soon. 

2012 had some ups and downs.  I’m the type of person that likes to focus on the “ups.”  2013 is going to be a great year, I just know it!
