We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Easter. I LOVE when Easter falls during April. We usually have beautiful, sunny weather. This weekend couldn’t have been better! We headed to my parents Thursday afternoon after lunchtime. We were ready for our 2.5 hour drive. Yikes!
I know it oddly looks like I’m driving in this photo…but I can assure you I’m not. That’s Jared’s arm taking the picture. I’m in the passenger seat — still not driving since our car accident 2 years ago. ANYWAYS. We had a very full car, as you can see. We have a Suburban and even with that it sometimes still feels like we don’t have enough room!
We made a quick stop for milkshakes for the boys, and coffee for myself, and we were off! I thought for sure Avery would sleep for a little while, however, he decided to talk the entire way instead! He seriously didn’t stop talking for 2 seconds! He kept saying, “Daddy, you gotta catch that car!” SO FUNNY!!
The next morning we woke up bright and early to color some Easter Eggs! The boys were SO excited!! Lincoln knew all about dying eggs, but Avery just thought it was about the greatest thing ever!
He cracked me up with how serious he was coloring his eggs. He literally did it all by himself, too — Mr. Independent!!
So. The past two years we’ve done “Easter Saturday” at my parents house. My mom thought it was a great idea, because the entire family could be together. It really works out great! I even invite my BFF, her hubby, and their twin boys to our celebration. There ended up being 7 kids!! SO FUN!!
We had a terrific day. Sunday morning we woke up, had breakfast, and took the 2.5 hour drive back to Connecticut. When we arrived home, there were Easter baskets waiting for the boys, as well as another egg hunt!!
They were SO thrilled! I haven’t looked at the calendar yet, but I really hope Easter falls during April next year too! You can’t beat the gorgeous weather!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!
