First you sign up for your first fix.
Then you fill out your style profile. This helps the stylists select clothing that they think will suit you. Don’t rush through this process! Take your time so your stylist can really get to know your style!
Your stylist then chooses 5 items based on your profile.
You choose your price range.
The items are sent to your home (no shipping fees), and you then try them on. Keep what you like, send back (in the included pre-paid postage envelope) what you don’t want.
There is a $20 styling fee, however this can be used to purchase any of the items you are sent!
If you decide to keep all 5 items, you receive a 25% discount.
You then give feedback on your fix. It’s extremely important to be very detailed for your futures fixes!
For this box, I made a few requests. I asked for boot-cut jeans and a denim jacket. Of course Stitch Fix delivered! However, they didn’t have any boot-cut jeans in my size, so they sent me some skinnies.
I was super excited that I received a denim jacket. I LOVE denim jackets…always have – and my old one definitely needs an upgrade! While this one was super cute, it unfortunately didn’t fit me right. It was a little too tight across the ::ahem:: girls, if you know what I mean. I also wish the wash was a little darker. Sadly, this one is going back. However, I did request another denim jacket for my next fix…so maybe I’ll have better luck next time?
Now the jeans. I really was hoping for boot-cut, but like i said they didn’t have any in my size, so I was sent these skinny jeans. This was really my first time ever putting on GOOD quality jeans. They were seriously SO incredibly soft! Although I loved them, they were probably one size too small. Major sad face. I checked my style profile, and I have my correct size listed, but was actually sent a size too small…so maybe it was an oversight?
It’s fall y’all!! And no, I don’t regular say “y’all,” but it seemed fitting. With this mustard color, this sweater just screams fall to me! I paired it with a white tank underneath. But, the sweater was too big. ::sigh:: This one is going back as well.
Yay for stripes!!! You all know I love stripes, right?! Have you seen the inside of my closet? It’s a bit of an obsession, and one that I will not quit. Nope. No way, no how! I obviously loved the style of this shirt, however there were just two things. One: I have one just like it in my closet. And two: it was too big. Boo. Back it goes. But yay to my stylist for really knowing me!!
Here’s where Stitch Fix is really awesome. You see this tank right here? I don’t know if I would have even bothered to give it a second glance on a rack in the store. However, my stylist took a look at my style profile and really thought I would like this one. And you know what? I REALLY love it. I know it’s not technically a top for the Fall season, but I will gladly tuck this into my closet for the spring. I love the detail on the front. And I love the contrast of the yellow color on the back! Thank you thank you, Alison for this beautiful fix!
So yes. This top I am keeping. And you know what else is awesome? It was only $28! I already paid my $20 styling fee, so theoretically I just had to pay $8 more for this top! Score!!!
What do you think of this months fix? I already scheduled my next fix — total shocker, I know.
I really think it’s important that your style profile be as detailed as possible. Also? My stylist specifically said she looked at my pinterest board for inspiration. So make sure you keep that updated too!
