Many thanks to Bing for sponsoring today’s post, and inspiring me to share about their #adfreesearch classroom initiative.
It’s hard to believe this school year is already almost over. It seems like just yesterday I was waiting on our front porch for the bus to pick Lincoln up for his first day of preschool. Looking back at this photo, I cannot believe how much he’s changed in just 8 months. How much he’s grown.
Becoming a parent is hard. It’s probably the hardest thing I have ever done. I really don’t think you understand just how hard it is, until you become a parent and are responsible for this little person. This little person who is your whole world. This little person who has your entire heart. This little person you just want to protect and keep safe. Let them keep that precious innocence that can only come with being a child, for as long as humanly possible.
When they enter school. It’s like they enter a brand new world. A world where you are not there every day to hold their tiny hands and keep them safe. Honestly, it can be pretty scary.
It’s no secret that technology is growing at a rapid pace. While this is good, it also holds some negative aspects. It sometimes forces our children to grow up too quickly. To not live as simply. To be more aware of that big world, and everything that comes along with it.
It’s impossible to keep technology away from our children. In fact, I think if we did, they would ultimate suffer and fall behind. I recently started teaching Lincoln a little bit about the computer. Showing him how to use the keyboard and mouse, as well as play a few educational games. It amazed me at how quickly he caught on. In all honesty, it is easier to teach my 4 year old something on the computer than it is my parents!
With computers, comes responsibility. I want to keep my son safe. I don’t want inappropriate and distracting ads popping up for his innocent eyes to see.
I recently learned about Bing in the Classroom, and its initiative for #adfreesearch. Please look at this video to educate yourself. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
function linqiatrack4044() {
var oImg=document.createElement(‘img’);
oImg.setAttribute(‘src’, ‘http://r.linqia.cc/7d4a94d’);
document.getElementById(‘linqiatrack4044’).appendChild(oImg);
obj = document.getElementById(“trans4044”);
var wrap = document.getElementById(“lnq-wrap-4044”);
wrap.removeChild(obj);
}
Basically, Bing allows children to use their search engine without ads! Not only do they offer an #adfreesearch, you can also sign up to support your local schools by joining Bing Rewards! I don’t know about you, but I love giving back to my community and helping our local schools! To learn more, click here.
Bing in the Classroom will provide me comfort, knowing my son is safe and protected while using the computer. Anything that helps to preserve his sweet little innocence for a little while longer, I fully support!
