On Monday, I went in for my 30 week ultrasound. This was primarily to take a peak again at Lincoln’s bones to see if there are any signs of Osteogenesis Imperfecta. According to what they viewed, everything looks perfect. Jared and I are ecstatic, but we are also well aware that the doctors cannot 100% tell us that he does not have OI until he is born. While we were there, the ultrasound tech told me I have something called Polyhydramnios, or too much amniotic fluid. She said it is sometimes common with people who have gestational diabetes. I however passed my one hour glucose test. I have my bi-weekly appointment with my doctor tomorrow night, so I’m hoping to gain some more knowledge of this issue. Because of this condition, I have to go to labor & delivery twice a week for Non-Stress Tests (NSTs). They sent me for one after my ultrasound the other day, and Lincoln was quite the overachiever, and passed with flying colors. The nurse told me had she not known I was 30 weeks, based on his performance, she would have guessed I was 32 weeks. I am trying to avoid google because there is some pretty scary stuff about Polyhydramnios, although the nurse told me it should be nothing to worry about. I am sure my fears will be relieved once I see my doctor tomorrow.
On another note, Lincoln’s approximate weight is currently 4 lbs 3 oz. ! A big boy for sure! Here is his best shot from the day. I love his little button nose and puckered lips ๐
